No matter what, most of us feel down and out after December 25. We feel like Christmas is over. One account of Jesus’ birth actually supports that feeling…sort of. In the Book of Matthew, Jesus’ life is immediately threatened after his birth, and he’s forced to flee to Egypt. On the surface, it seems like Christmas is over, and the joy of Jesus’ birth has ended as soon as it began. For Matthew, however, the Christmas drama has just begun, and we’re invited to follow the rest of the story.
