We all want to be heroes. We’ve all probably had fantasies in which we save the day. Having such fantasies is normal…unnecessary and unhelpful…but normal.
When it really goes bad is when we get lost in our delusions of grandeur. We get lost for many reasons. Perhaps we’ve gotten lost because we doubt that we have meaning…and . Maybe we feel that our missteps are irreparable. So we starting living beyond the limits of who we truly patterned after those delusions instead of the glory of God.
Jesus reveals to us that the earth is filled with God’s glory. That means we don’t have to hustle to be heroes. We can do our simple parts as partners in glory.
