The Road Less Traveled: Suffering

Marketing researchers have studies how many advertisements we see on average a day. It’s in the thousands.

Another interesting study would be: How many times do we see the symbol of the cross a day? It might not be thousands, but it’s a lot. Seeing it so much can make us cynical, jaded, indifferent, apathetic…It can empty the cross of its meaning.

Christianity shouldn’t be reduced to the cross; however, Christians are people who see everything through the cross.

What’s more…Jesus chose it.

Jesus chose suffering. He chose his ultimate destination…Jerusalem…the cross…suffering.

A question we must hold in our hearts during Holy Week is: Why did Jesus choose suffering?
