Bob Goff, the author of Love Does,
tells a story about time when he had to tell someone he cared about, and someone who had cared a lot about him, that he had decided to quit high school and go out west. He went to this person’s house to tell him the bad news. Bob then got a big surprise: I’m going with you. Bob’s mentor, a married man, decided on the spot to go with him. In truth, the mentor had been going with him.
One of the best graces of God is that God’s will is to go with us in the Holy Spirit. Even as we fall down again and again and again, we stand through this grace: that God has dealt with our brokenness in Jesus and God dwells in us in the Holy Spirit every moment of our lives.
Paul says it this way, “If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your human bodies also, through his Spirit that lives in you” (Romans 8:11 CEB).
